LED light technology has spread to the Christmas/decorative industry, spurring innovation in producing LED lighting products that have multiple benefits. Not only do LED lights consume about 1/10 of the electricity normally required by traditional lighting, LED lights also give off a brighter, richer color compared to incandescent lights.

In addition, most LED lights come with plastic resin bulbs, rather than glass; this makes them more break-resistant and safer to handle, especially around the general public, where children might handle or play with these lights. LED lights also produce very little heat, which greatly minimizes any risk of fire caused by over-heated lights.
